Life Legacy
JEANNE IRENE SAGON, 90 ROCKFORD - Jeanne Sagon, 90, passed away peacefully November 4, 2011. Born March 19, 1921, in Rockford to Reginald and Ann Parks.
Jeanne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she raised her family and enjoyed the pleasures of a full, happy life. She will be dearly missed. Jeanne graduated from Muldoon High School in Rockford. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music and playing the organ. At Independence Village, where Jeanne was a resident, she was known for dancing in the great room and for cheering up others with her positive attitude. One of her cherished accomplishments was being married to her husband, Frank Sagon, for 67 years. Frank passed away April 19, 2010.
Jeanne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Piera of South Bend, Ind.; daughter, Irene Ream and her partner, Mike DeBenedetto of Rockford; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Don Stenger of Roscoe; and grandchildren Jeff Ream of Rockford; Erica Wuslich and her husband, Jeff Wuslich, of Bloomington, Ind.; and Nathan Sagon of Narragansett, R.I.
Visitation at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7, followed by service at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7, in Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home, 304 N. Fifth St., Rockford. Prayers will be given by St. James Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Independence Village, 3655 N. Alpine Road, Rockford, IL 61114.
