Frederick Benjamin Rambow Jr. died peacefully at 6:22 A.M. Monday February 22, 2016, at his home after a long illness. Born April 25, 1930, in Peoria, IL. the son of Frederick B. Rambow Sr. and Iva Tull Rambow. Married Mary Frances Seipts in Rockford on March 9, 2026 and was prepared to celebrate 50 years together. He was a machinist and retired after more than 30 years at Van Aiken Hydraulics . A U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean conflict . He was stationed in Iceland. He enjoyed fishing, HO Scale trains and wood-working, was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed time with his family. Fred and Mary also enjoyed bowling together. He is survived by his wife, Mary and daughter Brenda (Tom) Paulson of Rockford. 4 sons; Tom (Ruthie) of Colorado, John (Becky) of Rockford, Doug (Chris) of Cincinnati and Greg ( Lorna) Rambow of Bowling Green, KY. Sisters; Beverly (Norbert) Vaughn of Peoria and Jean Pufahl of florida. 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Linda McElmeel and Tom McVey and special thanks to Heartland Hospice and the staff and doctors at the VA clinic in Rockford for their care during this time. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the family.
