Life Legacy
Betty Jean Dyke-81,Rockford,Illinois, died at 4:35A.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Provena St. Anne Center in Rockford. Born March 14, 1932, in Boyne City, MI., daughter of Louis and Lola Jean Robinson Harmon. Married to Frank Herbert Dyke in Lansing, MI. on February 21, 1953. Trained as a concert vocalist while attending Michigan State University, served as a dental assistant, loved playing bridge and had amazing cooking skills, learned from her father and grandfather who cooked in logging camps in the area. Formerly lived in Pittsburgh. PA. for 28 years and current member of Christ United Methodist Church in Rockford where she has lived for many years and volunteered as a cook for special occasions at the church for many years. Survivors include her husband, Frank, daughter, Mary Beth Dyke, sister, Mabel (Dr. Edward ) Price of Rocklin, CA. Grandsons, Frank Louis (Elaine) Dyke and Andrew Pierce (Jenni) Dyke of Rockford and great granddaughter, Alexandria Lynn Dyke. Predeceased by her parents and son, Frank Harmon Dyke.
Burial service at Maple Lawn Cemetery, 1050 Boyne Ave, Boyne City, MI. 49712, graveside at 1:00 P.M.. Saturday, June 22, 2013. Memorial service at 11:00 A.M.
