Daniel Richard (Danny) Barrett, precious son, loving brother, beloved grandson, devoted uncle, caring nephew and cousin, loyal friend. Danny departed this life for a better one on Monday, August 3, 2009. Danny was born on March 9, 2026 in Rockford, Illinois. He lived his entire life in Rockford and graduated from high school in 1997.
He was employed at Steiner Electric and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed working on cars and was always ready to help anyone in need. He leaves behind his parents, Gail (Tom) Keegan of Cherry Valley, his father Marion (Cindy) Barrett Jr. of Rockford. Sister Shannon (Nate) Messer of Loves Park, his nephew Noah Messer and niece, Ella Messer. Daughter, Kelsey Melin of Rockford, maternal grandmother, Lea Riles of Rockford and paternal grandmother, Doris Barrett of Rockford. Grandparents Gene and Thea Keegan of Lockport, Illinois. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and his loyal dog, Jackson. Predeceased by his grandfathers, Clay Riles and Marion Barrett Sr. and a special cousin, Donna Diggs –Davis. Memorial service at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home. Fr. William Wentink will officiate. Visitation from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday.
