Biography

Edwin G. “Gary” Edwards-68-Rockford, died Friday, August 14, 2009. Born May 20, 1941, in Los Angeles, Calif. Married to Mary E. Coomes on June 16, 1962. She died in 1988. Survivors are daughters, Lt. Col. Barbara (Todd) Manouse of Georgia and Peggy (Wayne) Lacy of Calif. Son, Gary (Cindy) Edwards of Kansas. 3 grandsons and 4 granddaughters. He married Anita L. Lanning on June 22,2025 and is survived by step-daughter, Sherri McCrary and step-sons, Steve Isbell and David Isbell, all of Rockford. 4 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grand children and his sister, Nancy Mays, in Florida. He was a Lions Club member for many years in California and the Rockford Evening Lions.
