Henry Lawrence "Larry" Bouma, 67, of Rockford was born to eternal life at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 26, 2009 in his home, surrounded by his family from mylodysplastic syndrome after an 18 month struggle with the illness. Born February 7, 2026 in Rockford, Illinois The son of Henry L. Bouma, Sr. and Edith Leona Bates Bouma. Married to the former Judith Doreen Bastian in St. Edward Church, Rockford, IL November 11, 1961. Employed as a machinist by Ekstrom-Carlson; Inc. for 34 years. U.S. Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Bushnell. Member of St. Edward Catholic church where he was baptized into the Catholic Faith on August 21, 2009. Also member of various other clubs and organizations including the L.L.L Club; Black Hawk Atheletic Club, American Legion-Robert Carlson Post 1207, SM & SF Club, Past Senior Girl Scout Advisor and Water Front Volunteer.

He is survived by Judith, his beloved wife and childhood bride of 47 years, Daughters, Pamela (Mike) Ortiz of Rockford; Janis (Wayne) Malone of New Milford; DeAnne (Steven) Beach of Rockford; Julie (Greg) Peppers of Roscoe. Grandchildren, Amber, Autumne, Zachary, Emily, Adrianna, & Hannah. Brothers, Stanley (Nancy) Bouma and Jack (Betty) Bouma. Sister & brother in law, Sandra & George S. Wetzel. Several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Henry L. Bouma, Mother, Edith Leona Bates Bouma, Father in law, Virgil Roy Bastian, Mother in law, Edith Amelia Jasper Bastian, Brother, James (Geraldine) Bouma and Sister, Maxine (Bud) Thomas.

Memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m Saturday August 29, 2025 at St. Edward Catholic Church 3004 11th St. Rockford, IL. with Father Thomas Doyle, officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday August 28, 2025 at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home 304 N. 5th St. Rockford with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family for a memorial to be established at a later date. for online register, maps and directions, visit www.weltefuneral.com
