Life Legacy
Ambrosia Mae May Cappelli, 28, of Rockford, died suddenly in her home on Monday October 31, 2025 surrounded by her cats Skitch and Boofy. She loved sports, dancing and always schooled the boys in basketball. She played for Ken Rock in 1995 and enjoyed all outdoor sports until she shattered her femur bone in 2001. She then developed asthma. Mae May had a child like spirit and all kids loved her, big and small. She touched many lives in her 28 years. She never wanted her friends to fight and always played peace maker.
The family would like to thank the respiratory nurses at Swedish American Hospital for their love and support over the past few years.
Survivors include her Mother, Edna Cappelli; Sister, Jessica Cappelli; Aunt, Patty Smith; Uncle, David Reed; and many cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday November 5, 2025 at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home 304 N. 5th St. Rockford, IL. Visitation will take place from Noon until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
