Life Legacy
Duane R. Bielefeldt-84- Rockford, died at 2:19 P.M. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at his home. Born December 16, 1928, in Rockford, son of John F. and Mary Grider Bielefeldt. He married June Doris Clankie in Rockford on March 5, 2026 and she died in 2000. He was a set-up man for the machines at Amerock Corp. where he worked for 25 years, retiring at age 62. U.S. Air force veteran as an aircraft mechanic during the late 1940’s. Member of the Rebecca lodge and Odd Fellows club and he liked bowling, fishing and sports. Survivors include his sons; Brian (Carrie) Bielefeldt of Machesney Park and Gary (Tami) Bielefeldt of Rockford. Daughter, Carolyn (Terry) Bennett of Rockford. Brothers; Albert (Sharon) Bielefeldt of Rockford, Donald (Theresa) Bielefeldt of Florida, John (Bubbles) Bielefeldt of Indiana and Irving (Jane) Bielefeldt of West Virginia. Sisters-in-law, Stella Bielefeldt and Margie Bielefeldt. Grandchildren; Mark (Marlena), Robbie (Amanda), Candi, Garry, Matthew (Theresa), Chris (Maria), Andrew (Snjezana Maric) Bielefeldt, Jaimie (Anthony) Johnson, Kimberly (Chris) Borota and Greg Bennett. 19 great grandchildren. Also predeceased by brothers; George and Jerry and sisters; Leona Bielefeldt and Shirley DeKoster, who died 2 weeks ago. Special thanks to the VNA Hospice caregivers, Amy and Shelly. Services at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home. Rev. Pam Rossmiller of Grace United Methodist Church will officiate.
