RoseMary Hendershott-92 of Rockford, died at 7:30 P.M. Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Crimson Pointe Assisted Living Center. She was born February 14, 1926, in Rockford, the daughter of William K. Erickson and Violet M. Johnson Erickson. She married Eugene B. Hendershott in Rockford on October 16, 2025 who preceded her in death and her sister, June V. Adolphson preceded her.
RoseMary is survived by her daughter, Arles Hendershott Love, her son in law, who she regarded as her son, Joe Love, and her Grand-pup Miss Keanu. Nieces, Karen Kermgard of Rockford, Nola Ray and her husband Barry of Minocqua, WI. Nephew, William Adolphson and his wife Diane of Rockford, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Also a large number of friends and hundreds of former Page Park School students. She is also survived by her neighbor, Jon Clark, who she loved as her Grandson.
She had a varied career, working for Dr. Francis Parker and at D.J. Stewarts. She found her calling at Jefferson High School and Page Park School working with special needs students for over 25 years.
RoseMary was always involved in the community, volunteering at both Rockford Memorial Hospital and OSF Medical Center and at the Winnebago County Health Department Flu Shot Clinics. She was also an election judge for many years and worked on several political campaigns. After retirement she lead the card ministry at Northeast Christian Church and was a member of the prayer team.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Crimson Pointe and to Dr. Peter Phalen and his staff for exceptional and compassionate care. Funeral service at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 30, 2025 at Julian-Poorman-Welte. Rev. Scott Hale of the Salvation Army and chaplain at Crimson Pointe, will officiate. Visitation from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday August 29th and from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday. The burial will be private at Scandinavian Cemetery.
